VoiceThread My students really enjoyed the VoiceThread, they were excited to talk into the microphone, I had to rerecord them many times. They were eager to say what they thought the words meant to them and it helped them when we read the book again. My Questions: What were some problems you encountered? How did your students enjoy utilizing VoiceThread? How would you incorporate VoiceThreads into future lesson? 3 COMMENTS: Trish Love Laura Garcia Danielle Chavez

  1. So I think I could say for everyone that VoiceThread was much more fun for the kids than for us! Making it was a hassle but I enjoyed how engaged the students were with it, especially when it came to recording their voice! Maybe we took it for granted at first, but I wouldn't mind using VoiceThread into my lesson plans in the future. It also helps with practicing their media skills through all the options VoiceThread has into having them express their own opinion.

  2. I bet your students had fun recording their voices!
Well one of the things I realized was that I was only going to be able to use one computer with my students just to be on the look out that they knew what they were doing, being that I had PreK. My students mainly did the doodling picture and at the end uploaded a picture of an activity they had worked on. My students seemed to want to finish their work quickly to try to get a chance for their group to move on to Voice Thread, so i noticed they did very much enjoy it.

  3. Wow it's so amazing to see how young children, like yours, do really well with technology! I really enjoyed your VoiceThread.. it was so cute!
Some of the problems I had were that when we would try to upload comments it would freeze a lot! :(
My students really enjoyed talking in the VT, it was just so fun to see their shocked faces when it would replay what they just said!
And finally, I think it would be great to use VoiceThread into some reading lessons. I feel like reading and language arts are sometimes the boring subjects, so VoiceThread would really help change that!
    Great job!

    1. thats actually a good idea Genelle, having the students recreate a story they have read on VT to check for comprehension of the story or even using VT to enhance their experiences about reading and making reading a lot more interactive.

  4. I think you did a great job on your Voice thread. You asked many good questions that had the students using their critical thinking skills. The only problem that I encountered when I did my voicethread was having the voicethread up on all the computers at the same time.. so I ended up using just one computer. My students enjiyed using the doodling and choosing colors on the voicethread.I could incorporate voicethread into future lesson by having them illustrate a picture and have them record themselves what their picture means.I think voicethread is a good idea to get students involved in technology.
